Our website has various features that allow people to interact – for example you can:  

• send emails or private messages to other residents
• make suggestions to various committees, boards, etc. using the suggestion boxes
• participate in discussions with other residents on various topics

When doing any of these activities the system will automatically identify you as the sender.  Since we are all individuals, we strongly recommend that each person who plans to use the website be registered individually – so that when you send an email, or post something on the site, it will identify the correct person.

Because of the features described above, we register individual people, not households,  for the Stonecroft Community website.

It is a technical requirement of the website that each person registered for the website must have a unique email address.

Additional email addresses are usually free from your internet service provider, and if not, they are free from several other sources (gmail, live, Outlookl, etc.).  Please do not use AOL as there is a technical incompatibility with our website.

Please note:

• You will not have to spend any time ‘managing’ this new email account, since you can turn off email notifications from the website. 
• Some of the email providers (eg.  Google’s gmail) allow you to put a ‘forwarding email address’ – you can use this feature to have any emails automatically forwarded from this new email account, to your shared or commonly used email account.   In other words – you won’t have to go in to check that other email account at all….it will basically be transparent to you…..….and you can continue  using your current shared email account as before. 
• While an email address is mandatory to gain access to the website; your email address will not be made accessible to other residents unless you personally choose to do so via your personal profile settings. 
• The website is the primary method of communication within the Community.  Direct emails to you will be on an occassional basis only, unless you specifically request ‘automated email notifications’ via your personal profile settings.
